NEW GRANT TEACHES IMPORTANT LIFE SKILLS
Farm-to-table isn’t just a popular culinary style … it’s a way to learn important lessons in math, chemistry, physical science, engineering, agriculture, social studies, as well as gain marketable job skills.
With a $250,000 District grant, local not-for-profit Do Good Farm will develop a working farm at Hope Charter School and Legacy High School.
Students will study and experiment with farm design techniques, and grow and process their own food.
Perhaps the best part: understanding where food comes from and learning to love (or even like) veggies will lead to healthier habits for years to come.
