Local Cancer Fund to Help Ease COVID-19 Worries

Dealing with cancer is always challenging, especially when COVID-19 makes in-person treatments, follow-up appointments and counseling sessions dangerous for immuno-suppressed patients.

To address that challenge, the Jimmy Crabtree Cancer Fund will use a $5,000 District grant to purchase iPads, cameras and speakers for each clinical room at Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center in Ocoee. The new equipment will help physicians conduct virtual visits with their patients, and make meetings with   nutritionists, financial counselors and their cancer support team much easier.
